New Year’s greeting poster. In many cultures around the world a shooting star is associated with dreams and hope, as it is believed that this phenomenon (a shooting star) has the magical power of granting us a wish. Furthermore, a shooting star is a very ephemeral thing, which echoes the idea of life itself. I wanted to play with this concept on my 2018 greeting poster. Thus, I created a sky full of shooting stars, where the main ones are suggesting the numbers 2, 0, 1, 8. The result is a 2018 made out of opportunities, hopes and magic, that has to be fully exploited before vanishing forever. The poster becomes an invitation to dream and reflect on what we would wish happened this new year if we were granted a wish.
